Jan. 5th, 2010 @ 05:24 am Paranormal DIY style!!
I wrote a new zine!!! You should totally check it out...

30 Pages of short stories from various characters of the House Napenthe collection written by Lola Batling. The stories are in the paranormal romance genre.

A designer drug made from the cast of ectoplasm of the incorporeal dead has been sweeping the streets. Those that use the drug either find themselves tapped with the ability to see and communicate with the deceased or stricken with forgetfulness of moments in their past. Amidst the shady deals and questionable generation of the drug called Nepenthe, a medium and supernatural hodge-podge, Lux Shimshi finds herself dealing not only with those on the drug, but any number of crazy chicanery that goes on behind the mundane curtain of reality

Dec. 30th, 2008 @ 01:15 am Salut!
Freelance Journalist/entertainer residing in Atlantic City.
She speaks four languages with some generic fluency, and has one insatiable hunger for consumption of all types.
I am nocturnal and always excited to work with others on cooperative creative endeavors.

2002-2004 I was an assistant to Matt and Huggy on 94 WYSP where I copyedited music news blurbs to be read on-air, and was on-air on the metal show Rocker's. In 2005 I worked for a small free fashion/satire magazine, "Philth" as assistant editor. Assistant editor of the Community College paper as well, but we all know that means bull in the real world of writing. 2006 worked for A1 National advertising writing pornographic news blurbs for Hotmovies.com and all of its 600 affiliates. 2006 was an editor for the Not For Tourist's Guide to Philadelphia 2007. (The 2008 edition is already out, so my edition is irrelevant)
I also have written for formatmag.com and mvremix.com. Currently I am working on a fictional novel about dancing and prostitution.
I have several blogs.

http://brigantinelocal.blogspot.com/ <----- This one is about my little New Jersey barrier island.

http://skateparis.blogspot.com/ <-------- This one's personal.

http://gurillagardening.blogspot.com/ <------ this one is unloved.

Is it ok to post appropriate personal stories, or is everyone too good to read the work of a colleague?

Anyway, well hello.

Dec. 24th, 2008 @ 02:49 am Know any queer rural zines? x-post (if this doesn't belong/breaks rules, sorry; tell me&I'll delete)
Current Mood: hopefulhopeful
Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but my friend Jenna (a.k.a. trashcan_chica) needs some help:

"does anyone know of any queer zines about living in rural areas or going to rural areas?

any help/pointing in the right direction would be amazing. i went through the whole Queer Zine Archive and couldn't really find anything.

jenna b

p.s. i just got a wordpress site, sassyfrasscircus.com!"

Her (AIM) away message also says: "is looking for zines about/by members of radical queer ANTI-URBAN communities, so if you know of any..."

So please comment if you can help at all; thanks. :]

Dec. 5th, 2008 @ 07:50 pm Promoting my upcoming book
Update - My book is now available for purchase through Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. You can also get it directly from my publisher's online bookstore. Links are on my website.

Hey everyone! First, I'd just like to say that I'm new here. I'm from NJ and I'm posting to promote my upcoming book. Any published author will tell you that self-promoting is important. Anyway, my book is a supernatural erotica romance novel entitled A Rose to the Fallen...and it's my first book. I opted for self-publishing through Author House and my book should be released in early 2009. I don't know how many of you know about self-publishing, but I recommend it if you have a finished manuscript, you want to have it published, and you're having a hard time landing a deal with a publishing company. I'm not sure of the exact date of my book release yet, but I've included a sneak peek of chapter 1 on my site. If the story catches your interest, keep checking my site for the latest updates on the release and all other related news. Clickety-click the banner.
